The 2nd Annual Mersea Cup was held on Wednesday night, bringing together over 50 enthusiastic boys from Thurstable School and Thomas Lord Audley School for an exciting evening of rugby.
Both U13 and U15 teams took part in the event, playing competitive matches that highlighted their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The games were evenly matched, with neither team gaining the upper hand. Skill development and fair play were evident throughout, as both contests ended in draws: The U13s finished 5–5, with the U15s at 6–6, showing strong competitive spirit from all participants.
During the Autumn term, Mersea Island RFC generously provided rugby coaching at both schools, enriching not only curriculum lessons but also after-school clubs. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr Woodcock and Mr Servantes (Thurstable), and Mr Howard-Franks (TLA) for their unwavering dedication to school rugby and for playing a vital role in making these events such a resounding success.
